Garp is shaping up to be an even greater force to reckon with, or at least that’s how it seems after his fight with Sengoku in One Piece.

While it was always heavily debated who’d win in a fight between Garp and Sengoku, the latest One Piece chapter 1166 leaks have basically given us the answer. Yeah, it’s got to be Garp, right? Even with all those injuries, it clearly looked like he beat Sengoku badly, and even gave him that huge bump on his head, arguably the biggest in the series so far.
Based on these chapter 1166 spoilers, it’s even fair to assume Oda may have given Garp another power-up, because that’s honestly what it looked like. Before this, the two were almost on equal footing, and it was hard to tell who was stronger. But in this instance, Garp looked completely out of Sengoku’s league (or ‘Bumgoku’ as fans call him).
Garp vs Sengoku: We Might Finally Have a Winner

Fans can’t believe how Sengoku is getting extreme diff even against a nerfed Garp. It’s literally 1 HP Garp vs Sengoku, and somehow Garp is still coming out looking stronger. At this point, people are joking that even a half-dead Garp is too much for him, and honestly, it can be true.
Before this, everyone assumed they were roughly equal in strength, but their specific advantages were always debated. Some argued Garp’s raw fighting power put him on top, while others said Sengoku’s Devil Fruit gave him way more versatility. Like, either could win.
But after this chapter, the “Sengoku is a fraud” allegations are getting louder. The way the leaks show him struggling just makes it look like he’s been overrated this entire time, while Garp keeps flexing even when he’s supposed to be nerfed. What are your thoughts on this?
Garp’s Role in the God Valley Plot Goes Way Deeper

Nonetheless, after all that happened in the past few chapters, Garp’s role in the God Valley incident is starting to look significantly more important than anyone expected. Every new detail just makes it feel like he was involved in way more than the Marines ever admitted.
First, there’s the part about saving his own son, Dragon, and helping him escape from prison. That alone is a huge twist, and it completely changes how we look at their relationship and Dragon’s backstory.
Then add the fact that he teamed up with Roger and actually defeated the Rocks’ Pirates. That’s already legendary territory, and it shows just how insane Garp’s strength and influence were during that era.
And after all this, he ends up being hailed as the Hero of the Marines. Honestly, it’s no exaggeration to say this was the most eventful and defining phase of Garp’s entire life, and we’re still learning new pieces of it.
